How to adjust the calibration on your Cooking Oil Tester (TPM)

How-To | Adjust the calibration on your Cooking Oil Tester (TPM) when a check shows more than 2% deviation.

Written by Freyja Jensen-Dowell

Before You Start

Only adjust the calibration if a check has shown a deviation greater than 2%. Adjusting the calibration changes how your Cooking Oil Tester (TPM) reads, so only do it when a check tells you to.

If you have not checked the calibration yet, do that first so you know how much to adjust by — see How to check the calibration on your Cooking Oil Tester (TPM).

Steps

  1. Press and hold the H key for 3 seconds to go to the menu settings.

  2. In the menu settings, move up or down using the up and down arrows to select TPM Adjust.

  3. Press the H key to enter the TPM Adjust area.

  4. Using the up and down keys, input the adjustment value. TPM adjustment value = standard value − measurement value.

  5. Press H to save and exit the menu.

  6. Move to Return and press H to return to the measurement screen.

Your calibration has been adjusted. It is worth running another check to confirm the reading is now within 2%.
