How-To | Get your new Cooking Oil Tester (TPM) unboxed, charged, and ready for its first reading.

Before You Start

This guide gets your new Cooking Oil Tester (TPM) ready for its first use.

Check the box contains the tester, a Micro-USB charging cable, a probe cover, and the instruction guide. If anything is missing or damaged, contact the Squizify support team.

Before your first reading, take the protective cover off the probe. Leaving it on is the most common reason a first reading shows 0 or an odd value.

Steps

Charge the tester

  1. Plug the Micro-USB cable into the tester and into a 5V, 1A (or higher) USB charger.

  2. The charging indicator appears red while it is charging.

  3. Charge until the battery is full before first use.

The tester has a built-in rechargeable battery, so there are no batteries to replace.

Turn it on and off

  • Press the Power button to turn it on.

  • Press and hold the Power button to turn it off.

  • It switches off on its own after a while to save battery.

Get to know the buttons

  • Power — turns the tester on and off.

  • H — hold for 3 seconds to open the menu, press to confirm a choice, and use to lock a reading while measuring.

  • Up and Down — move through the menu and change values.
