How to check the calibration of the Lumity Cooking Oil Tester (TPM)

To ensure the Cooking Oil Tester produces accurate readings the calibration must be checked regularly.

The calibration can be adjusted on the probe itself. To check the calibration you must have:

  • A Lumity TPM Cooking Oil Tester

  • Access to hot water

  • Emerson Calibration Test Oil (check that it is in date)

Let's get started

1. Clean the sensor using a cloth or disposable paper towel.

2. Place the reference oil container in a jug of hot water.

3. Warm the oil until it reaches 50°C.

4. Immerse the Cooking Oil Tester into the reference oil and take a reading.

5. Compare the reading with the label value.

  • If deviation is more than 2%, adjustment is necessary.

  • If deviation is 2% or less, no adjustment is needed.

6. You have checked the calibration of the Lumity Cooking Oil Tester!
