How do I know if a sensor is offline?
We offer three methods of identifying offline sensors:
1. On the Sensors page, the sensor will have an orange border with red dashes to replace temperature and red font for the date/time of the last reading.
2. Pop up alerts within the Squizify app on your mobile/tablet device
3. Email and/or SMS notifications (if configured)
What can I do?
If your sensor is offline, try the following:
You can do this by:
Check for obstructions: Make sure none of the stock is blocking the sensor.
βCheck placement: Ensure the sensor is positioned as close as possible to the gateway. Move the sensor closer to the gateway inside the unit, and monitor its status on the Sensor Dashboard page.
βWait 1 hour, then check if the date/time of the last reading has changed - all we need is for the date/time to change, it will take longer for the sensor to update to the current date/time.
(When a sensor loses connection, it will continue taking temperature readings, and then when it reconnects, it will take some time to upload all the data it has stored. The goal here is to see if the sensor reconnects automatically and starts sending through the data backlog.)
Reset the sensor
If the sensor does not reconnect automatically, you will need to manually reset the sensor. You can find video guides on how to do this here: Resetting your Squizify sensor.
(When a sensor is reset, it will lose any data it has stored, so it's important to troubleshoot offline sensors as early as possible to avoid losing compliance data!)
Please try reactivating the sensor by holding the orange button for 5 seconds:
Flashing blue β Sensor is off
Solid blue β Sensor is active and online
After that, wait 15 minutes and check the Squizify app to see if the sensor is displaying the current date and time.
The sensor is still offline
If your sensor is still unable to connect, please reach out to our support team via the in-app chat bubble.
