Understanding my Premium printer

Before troubleshooting issues on your printer we need to understand what the combination of lights mean. Below is a basic list of the most common indicator light combination which will help identify what the printer is trying to tell you.

What do the lights mean?

Everything is fine indicators

Printer is ready to be connected to a Device

Printer is on, the Green Status Light indicates there are no issues or concerns and you can connect it to a device via Bluetooth, WiFi or LAN connection. Go to our How to Connect your Printer to Your Device Article to help you set this up.

Printer is ready and connected

The Green Status Light and Red Connection Light indicates all is fine and the printer is connected to a device via Bluetooth. If the Connection Light is also Green, this means the printer is configured to connect via Wi-fi. If you have these light and the printer is still not printing please read our Printer won’t print, what can I do Article_._

With both Status and Connection Lights Green your printer is ready and connected via WiFi or LAN to a device. _If you have these light and the printer is still not printing please read our Printer won’t print, what can I do Article.

Printer is in Sleep Mode

The printer is fine, it is merely in sleep mode. Do a quick press of the power button which should wake it.

Your printer has an error

Printer is Open or Labels are Misaligned

Press the first 'Pause' button. This will reset the label position and should clear the error.

Otherwise check if your printer cover is open. To resolve this issue open the printer to ensure the label roll is installed correctly. Close the printer, you should feel or hear the latches on each side snap in place to lock the cover. This should resolve the issue, if these lights are still on after trying this please contact us as the Head Open switch might have been damaged.

An error that refers to your Label Roll

This can mean one of two things.
Either you do not have a label roll installed or your current label roll is empty. Please go to our Changing a label roll Article which will help you to resolve this issue.

Your media sensor is misaligned. To resolve this issue, open the printer and ensure the media sensor (the yellow movable indicator) is aligned to the center as per below image.
It this does not resolve the issue please contact us through support.

Cutter Blade not moving properly

Simply put, this just means the roller that pulls the labels through is not moving. Turn the printer off and have a quick look inside, is anything blocking the roller from moving? The roller is situated at the front before the media sensor (see the previous image). Sometime labels, paper or objects fall in and stop the roller from moving. Close the printer and wait 30 sec before restarting. If the light stays red please contact our support team at support@squizify.com

Printer Above Temperature

The printer is overheated. This can be due to printing a lot of labels, or due to excessive the ambient temperature. To resolve this please turn the printer off and wait about 15 min for it to cool down. After you have given it enough time to cool down power it back on and all should be good.

Also check that the ambient temperature is not above 40°C and that the printer is not in direct sunlight as this will affect the temperature too.

OR

Printer Under Temperature

The printer is under optimal temperature to print. This can be due to ambient temperature being too cold, if there was a drastic change in temperature or not enough power going to the printer. Best would be to check that you are using the Zebra power cords and that they are plugged in correctly. Secondly, move the printer to a more optimal location and try again. If the light is still blinking yellow after the printer has been moved, please contact us.

Printer failed to Pair

When the Data Lights slowly flickers Red, your printer is receiving data but it has failed to pair. To correct this, restart the tablet and Go to Settings. Find Device Connections and select Bluetooth. Tap the three dots (...) and select Forget. Open your Browser Print Application and reconnect with the Printer through there. Visit our How to Connect your Printer to your Device Article which will help you set this up.
