Period Check Updates – Tasks Section
What is Period Check?
Period Check controls when sections of a task appear, depending on the selected frequency. This way, only the relevant sections show on the right day.
The available Period Check options are:
- Week
- Fortnight
- Month
- Day of Month
- Quarter
- Year
Period Checks help show only the relevant sections of a task depending on the schedule. This keeps tasks simple and ensures users complete them once per frequency.
1. Week
- Select a day of the week for each section.
- No Unit = shows every day.
Example:
1 | Week - Mon, Wed and Fri | Monday, Wednesday and Friday only |
2 | No Unit | Every day |

2. Fortnight (2 weeks)
- Works like a week but over two weeks.
- Days appear as: 1st Mon, 1st Tue … 2nd Sat, 2nd Sun.
- Tasks generate immediately upon saving.
Example: Fortnight starts 29/12/2025 (1st Mon)
Section | Period Check | Shows On |
|---|---|---|
Weekly report | 1st Thurs | 01/01/2026 |
Stock check | 2nd Fri | 09/01/2026 |

A Fortnight is a two-week period. It works like a weekly schedule, but spans two weeks instead of one.
When setting up tasks, you’ll see options like 1st Mon, 1st Tue … 2nd Sat, 2nd Sun. These represent the days in the first and second week of the fortnight. On the side, you’ll also see when the next fortnight begins.
Example:
If the fortnight starts on 29/12/2025, then that date is the 1st Monday. From there, you can see which day each task should appear, for example, 1st Tue, 2nd Fri, etc.
Tasks will generate immediately upon saving. They don’t wait until the next fortnight to start, so nothing is missed.
Use the Fortnight period for daily or weekly tasks when you only want them completed once every two weeks.
3. Month
- Select a month for the section to appear.
- Use for monthly or yearly tasks.
Example:
Section | Period Check | Shows On |
|---|---|---|
Monthly audit | March | 01/03/2026 – 31/03/2026 |

4. Day of Month
- Select a specific day (1st, 15th, last day).
Example:
Section | Period Check | Shows On |
|---|---|---|
Submit report | 3rd | 03/01, 03/02, 03/03 … |
Month-end review | Last day | 31/01, 29/02, 31/03 … |

5. Quarter
- Choose a quarter:
- Q1 = Jan–Mar
- Q2 = Apr–Jun
- Q3 = Jul–Sep
- Q4 = Oct–Dec
Example:
Section | Period Check | Shows On |
|---|---|---|
Quarterly review | Q2 | Apr, May, Jun |

6. Year
- Pick an exact day of the year.
Example:
Section | Period Check | Shows On |
|---|---|---|
Annual safety audit | 6th June | 04/06/2026, 04/06/2027, … |

If a task has no requirement on certain days (e.g., a yearly task showing only Q1, Q2, and Q4), it will appear in the menu but be empty.
Users will see: “No task information found.”
