How to Manage Basic Alert Notifications for Sensors
One of the key benefits of having our Sensors installed in your refrigeration is the ability to receive timely notifications when the temperatures are out of specification. Here is a simple guide on how to add or edit these notifications.
Select the Sensors heading on the Menu.
Select Settings in the top right corner of the screen.
On the sensor display dashboard select the sensor you wish to update - you can double check it is the correct sensor by cross referencing the serial number located on the front of the sensor.
Select the Configuration heading on the far right hand of the screen. This will produce a new popout menu.
The Configuration menu has three sections: Status, Temperature Alert, In-App Notifications and External Alerts.
Under Temperature Alert you can customise the temperature thresholds that you want the alert/s to be set, choosing between Above, Below, or Above and Below.
For refrigeration holding high-risk foods, we recommend the temperature be set at "Above 5 degrees".
For freezers, "Above -5 degrees" is generally sufficient.
If you have a product that you want to prevent from freezing, you might want to set a Below alert for zero (0) degrees.
The next section In App Notifications is where you can select to create on-screen popups when you are using the App. We recommend as a minimum you set a Temp notification. The drop down "_Notify After"_ determines how long the system will wait to notify you after the temperature threshold (set above) is reached.
The last section, External Alerts, allows you to receive a notification via Email or SMS to a Mobile.
Select your preferred notification method from the dropdown menu and then fill in the email or mobile number that you want the alert sent to. As above, you can also customise the time at which the notification is sent.
For these alerts to work, you must also select one or more of the tick boxes for Temp, Humidity, Offline and Battery.
If you want different staff to receive notifications on different days of the week (i.e Monday-Friday, and Saturday-Sunday), or only from 6pm-12pm, you can set these parameters using the +Add Time Rule option.
Now press Save and your alert is complete. Simply repeat this process to set the alerts individually for each sensor.
You can change or edit these details using this Configuration menu at any time.
