Sensor installation guide

Ensure the gateway is connected to your network.  You will need to wait 2-5 minutes until you see the blue light flash to confirm the gateway is properly connected and talking with the Squizify server.

You now need to turn on the sensor, how you do this depends on the sensor model.
Standard Sensor

Hold down the button on the top of the sensor for approximately 8-10 seconds.

Long-Ranger Sensor

Use a pen lid or something similar to press the orange button for approximately 8-10 seconds.

Once turned on a solid blue light will display on the front, at which time you can let go of the button and shortly after the light will turn off. The sensor is now activated and will connect to your gateway.

Now find a place where you want to install the sensor. If you are placing it on a wall, thoroughly clean the surface with a dry cloth, removing all possible dust. Remove the adhesive sticker on the back and place firmly in position. Hold the sensor in place for 5 seconds to ensure a good grip. If you are positioning it on a shelf, we suggest you use the zip ties provided to lock it in place.

Log into the Squizify App and go to the Sensors Tab on the Left Hand Menu. Click on the sensor you installed, then select Configuration on the right. Now click the Edit Icon (the pencil next to the header.) Name the sensor as you wish. We recommend using a naming convention that is used by all staff, for example "Pans Fridge 1", "Seafood Fridge" "Main Coolroom".
Every business is different so ensure that all staff are using the same names to prevent confusion.

#Hint - you might like to use your Squizify printer to create custom labels for the fridge doors until everyone is on the same page.

Now you can configure your sensor notifications.  In the section titled Temperature Alert select the above/below options and enter the appropriate values for the sensor.  We recommend setting the alert for fridges "above 5°" and for freezers "above -10°".
You can now select whether you want to receive alert notifications in the app by selecting the corresponding boxes, and then selecting the relevant time period from the drop down boxes.
You can also use the "External Alerts" to set up SMS or email notifications in the same way.  If you want to add more external alerts, just click +Add Alert at the bottom to create the next set.

Once you have entered all the details, click Save to continue.

Repeat steps 1-6 for any remaining sensors.  You can come back and update these details at any time.
